Before you hire us.

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes. Every project begins with a complimentary in-home consultation and a detailed, written estimate — no obligation, no hidden fees. What you see is what you get.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We are a licensed California General Contractor (Lic. #908488) and carry both general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage for your complete protection. We are also BBB Accredited with an A+ rating.

What areas do you serve?

We serve all of San Diego County — including Ramona, Poway, Rancho Santa Fe, Oceanside, Carlsbad, Del Mar, La Jolla, Pacific Beach, Mt. Helix, El Cajon, Chula Vista, and everywhere in between — as well as Palm Springs and Riverside County.

How long have you been in business?

Rodriguez General Contracting & Custom Painting has proudly served Southern California homeowners for 40 years.

Do you handle both residential and commercial projects?

Yes. While most of our work is high-end residential remodeling, we also take on commercial remodeling and construction projects of all sizes.

Will I work with the same team throughout my project?

Yes. Your entire project is handled by a single, dedicated team from start to finish — one point of contact, clear communication, and full accountability at every phase.

How do I get started?

Call us at (619) 884-6554 or use our estimate request form to schedule an in-home consultation. We'll walk the space with you, discuss your vision, and provide a free written estimate.

What makes Rodriguez different from other contractors?

Three things: we conduct business ethically and with integrity; your complete satisfaction is our most important objective; and we deliver the best experience possible in both quality workmanship and respectful customer service.

How to verify a California contractor.

Anyone can print a business card. Before you let a contractor start work on your home, these are the four things worth ten minutes of your time — on us or on anybody else.

1. Verify the license

Look the license number up with the California Contractors State License Board. Ours is #908488, held by Rodriguez General Contracting & Custom Painting Inc of Ramona, California. The board will tell you whether the license is active, what classifications it covers, and whether there are complaints against it.

2. Ask for proof of insurance

We carry General Liability and Workers' Comp insurance, and we will supply certificates on request. If a contractor hesitates at that question, that is your answer.

3. Read the written estimate

Our estimates are itemized, in writing, and free. The figure you are given is the figure you pay — no service fees, no charges that surface later.

4. Talk to past clients

Ask for references for the kind of work you are planning, not just any work. We keep a list of clients who have agreed to take those calls, and our BBB profile (opens in new tab) is public.
